The two-day Sales Innovation Expo 2016 (SIE) is set to be one of the largest, most intriguing events to hit the sales calendar this year. Held over the 11th-12th May at the London Excel, the event provides for a wide range of sales people; whether a sales director hunting for the latest reporting and analysis system or a field sales rep in search of an intuitive mobile CRM – there’s something for everyone.
The exhibition also provides a great networking opportunity as running alongside is The Business Show – arguably the UK’s largest business event. With around 20,000 businesses and over 350 individual exhibitors present there should be plenty of potential clients to mingle with amongst the trade stands, workshops and seminars.
However, one of the shows biggest draws is the consistently high turnout of expert speakers and after skimming through this year’s list, it looks certain not to disappoint. Along with our very own Oscar Macia who will be speaking on how to build a high performance sales team there are a couple more that caught the eye.
One in particular will be delivered by John Farrington and Etien D’Hollander on the ins and outs of sales mobility. As innovators in the mobile CRM space ourselves this one definitely peaked our interest and with the high profiles of John and Etien weighing in on the matter, it’s sure to be one kept onside. They bring over 30 years of professional experience working with frontline field sales reps to the table and as such are intimately familiar with the pains and problems they face. This one will be kicking off at 12 a.m. on the Thursday at the Top Sales World Auditorium.
Another one that stands out from the bunch is by American referral sales specialist Joanne Black. Leveraging influence from your referral network is an oft-overlooked tactic in sales and Joanne, author of the best-selling “Pick Up the Damn Phone!” will no doubt provide the insight required in booking that “one-call meeting”. She will be speaking from 12 a.m. – 12.35 a.m. on the Wednesday also in the Top Sales World Auditorium.
An early start on the Thursday is strongly recommended too. CEO of successful sales advisory firm Trinitiy Perspectives Cian McLoughlin will be shedding some light on what he describes as the “rebirth of the sales industry”. A shake up in the way B2B sales are now conducted has shifted the focus from vendor, to consumer and by using the experience gained from his time in the technology sector Cian will lay out a blueprint for sales teams in order to get back on track. Remember, bright and early to catch this one – 10.30 a.m. – 11.05 a.m. in the Top Sales World Auditorium.
There’s also plenty to do away from the auditorium. The Sales Innovation Expo offers up a number of workshops and masterclasses to sidle through in your spare time. With it being widely accepted now that using social media as a sales tool, particularly LinkedIn, it might be worth taking a closer look at the following workshop led by the author of Link Up With LinkedIn Judy Parsons. She’ll be schooling sales reps on how to build out their professional brand, identify prospects and ultimately build a higher referral rate. Not a bad way to spare a few minutes seeing as 76% of today’s B2B buyers seek advice from their network before purchasing.
But in all honesty there’s so much going on at this year’s Sales Innovation Exposition it might be worth getting lost amongst the stands, hunting out the latest companies, products and mobile CRM technology. We’ll be over at stand 1500 if the latter is of interest and would be more than happy to answer any queries you might have – you’ll also have the chance to win an Apple Watch, so make sure to stop by!
Regardless, this is certainly regarded as one of the strongest sales shows held annually in the UK. The fact that it’s run alongside The Business Show adds to its stature, offering the chance to meet thousands of potential clients over the two days – more than you could hope to meet back in the office.
We hope to see you there!
